One Piece Live-Action season 2 is happening — these words are very special for every single series watcher out there. Netflix is known for renewing it’s TV shows and other projects in a very quick manner. I would say that it is the only company with a team who can predict the future way before any of it’s competitors.
While the One Piece saga is one of the most successful manga based IP’s (intellectual property) of all time, it is the performance and planning of Netflix which finally brought us it’s Live-Action version. We were celebrating the events of first season when the company took a step forward and announced One Piece Live-Action season 2 in September 2023. Now that we are getting back to back shows this year, Roronoa Zoro actor Mackenyu Arata is officially revealing many surprising and exciting details.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Arata revealed that he’ll be filming in the United States over the next few months. While the actor did not give a filming start date, I can still make a guess on the basis of their previous patterns.
Season 1 took eight months in production, beginning in January 2022 and wrapping up in the premiere on August 31, 2023. If One Piece Live-Action season 2 follows a similar pattern then you can expect it to finish off everything by early 2025 — hence, opening the gates of summers 2025 or late 2025 to release on the streaming services.
Talking about it’s casting then we are officially getting our original five, including Mackenyu as Zoro and Iñaki Godoy as Luffy. Let’s recall the ending of previous season. We saw how our ‘boy in the straw-hat‘ goes on a journey across the vast seas in search of the ultimate treasure known as the One Piece. If you can’t remember then let me help you in recalling it’s exact ending.
As soon as we reach at the boundaries of season 1, we finally gets a chance to see a glimpse of a mystery character. Now different fans have different theories — however, I would say that he was none other then our smoker. If it’s true then you can safely expect the appearance of this epic character in future episodes. Well, the show will get under the lights and cameras in next couple of weeks or maybe months in worst case — so keep an eye on us as we will update you with the speed of “Flash“.
