Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 was under public demand for a while now. Ever since we’ve watched the first season of this magical saga, it feels like our hunger to watch more of Aang is not getting over. Fans were excited and sure about it’s second season, however- the only factor which was spoiling our hopes were the reviews of critics (which according to me should not matter anymore).
Well, no need to worry about anything because Netflix has officially renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for not one, but for two back to back seasons. Yes! I am not even joking. Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 will now land with it’s season- season 3!
The first season was dealing with a perfect plotline where the world is divided into four nations depending upon their primary element- the Water Tribes, the Fire Nation, the Air Nomads and the Earth Kingdom. All four of them were living in harmony, with Avatar keeping peace between them (as he is the master of all four major elements).
Things changes when Fire Nation betrays everyone and attacks on the Air Nomads. They not only kills their people, but completely wipes them out. While the world was at stake and Fire Nation was creating a lot of chaos, Aang (played by Gordon Cormier) reawakens to take his rightful place. We also gets Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (played by Kiawentiio) who are the siblings and members of the Southern Water Tribe. Our protagonists doesn’t wastes much time and joins the group of Aang and the trio later becomes more like the best friends.
The show covers the journey of Aang who arrives on a mission to save the world from the brutal attacks of the Fire nation. He faces off Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and we, as the fans, witnesses many magical fight sequences throughout the season.
While no solid release schedule is revealed yet for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 and 3, I am pretty sure that they will begin their filming by later this year or early 2025 without a doubt. While Netflix is known for announcing sequel season immediately in a matter of few days from releasing any project, Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 gets lucky after spending around 3 weeks on the streaming services. The major reason behind this delay were the number of views that they were getting on the first season.
Despite getting a slow start (from the point of view of Netflix), Avatar: The Last Airbender soon starts dominating their services and becomes number 1 show in not only USA, but in more then 40 countries from all across the globe.
Well, now that this saga is getting a total of 3 seasons aka the trilogy- I am sure that they will be cooking some of the most exciting and surprising plotlines for their audience.
