While Netflix is known for delivering us many live-action projects, Arcane season 2 is marking the excellent work of an animated franchise which has garnered a lot of popularity world wide. The show is based on the duo of Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell).
While we’ve watched multiple animated short films, shorts and TV Shows, Arcane season 1 has something which makes it different from many other similar projects. You can praise it’s animation style, story, casting or marketing. This show has everything that should be present in an award-winning product- hence, it pulled an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Animated Program.
Arcane season 2 got a green flag as soon as it’s first season won this huge milestone at the award ceremony. Vi has a whole dedicated fanbase over internet which keeps making multiple theories and predictions for her future. Well, I do knows that you are trying to find out some new details about second season- and you are at the right place.
From release schedule to filming updates, from plot details to it’s first trailer- here’s everything that you need to know about Arcane season 2!
Arcane Season 2 Release Date & Schedule!
The very first thing that fans are looking for is nothing but the release schedule. When is the show going to land? Are there any new developments in either of casting or filming? Questions like this brew in your minds- and I knew it!
First & Foremost, when will this show land? Well, you don’t need to wait for years to take a deep dive with our Vi. Arcane season 2 is officially releasing on Netflix starting from November 2024, Variety reports. Yes I knows that it is still many months away from us but hey! Atleast it is in sight now right?
Don’t be sad because I do have something which can make you happy. So if you don’t know then Arcane season 2 went into production back in 2023. The show is currently very active state of production and no wonder if we gets some new poster or sneak peaks on their social platforms. In fact, Riot Games CEO Nicolo Laurent has officially confirmed that he has already watched the first three episodes from Arcane season 2 and they are looking pretty fantastic!
He has also confirmed that Arcane season 2 will receive the same kind of treatment that it’s first season got at the time of premiere- that is, they will be releasing first three episodes on Netflix all at once.
In fact, the creators are discussing about the possibilities to make their release a event. The officials has hinted that they want to try something where fans can come together in order to feel the beauty of first three episodes from Arcane season 2, just like an event. So I feels like the release schedule of this show is definitely going to adopt something unique and special.
When Could We Expect First Full Trailer?
Well, this question is a bit tricky but I do have a solid answer for you. Netflix has already released a first look short teaser where we can feel the dark and terrifying vibes already. The show will feature many twists about which I will be talking in the very next section.
Since Arcane season 2 will release somewhere in November of this year, it simply means that we should expect a full length trailer in the summers. To be more specific, streaming companies releases their full length trailers two months prior to their release schedule, so a late September sounds a perfect time to get it’s first official full length trailer.
Arcane Season 2: My 3 Top Predictions!
Now I’ve revealed almost everything regarding the release schedule and trailer of Arcane season 2. One thing which is still under wraps is the official synopsis or plot summary. While Netflix is trying to keep things under wraps as much as it can, theorists like me can easily predict a lot about the future of such projects.
Season 1 ends on a huge cliffhanger. Silco has been killed and it simply means Zaun no longer has a leader. The name of their next leader is still unknown but I would love to see Jinx in this shoe. However, we have to remember that this character is already out of control which leaves space for Vi to be the next leader.
I am also expecting a war between Piltover and Zaun. Both of these entities are definitely going to be the center point of season 2 and with no wonder- we will be getting a moment where the actual vote of independence may get revealed.
If you’ve watched the first clip from season 2 which has been released by Netflix, you may’ve noticed a first glimpse at Warwick. If you don’t know then Warwick is a human-turned-werewolf that hunts the streets of Zaun, in the lab of the mad chemist Singed. It simply means that you should stay ready for watching some twisted villains as well.
One thing that I noticed in this clip was the absence of Sisters Vi and Jinx. It is possible that Netflix may bring some slight changes in their personalities (some new style) to add a cherry on top. Either way, both of them are going to decide the faith of this whole saga.
Remember the concept of top city and the undercity? Well, it would be fun to watch their people interacting with each other. Are they going to face any racial discrimination? Or will they unite in order to work and grow together? This is a concept that can bring in some out-of-the-box kind of fun in Arcane Season 2.
Vi and Jinx, Victor and Jayce are not the only characters who are going to dominate second season. The official team has confirmed that Caitlyn and Vi’s relationship will also be explored further. In fact, when asked about the possibilities of Arcane season 2, Kevin Alejandro spoke to Buzzfeed:
“You’re going to be on the edge of your seats. You’re going to be conflicted in such a way that I don’t know if it’s good or bad. Like, your emotions will be pulled out of you and you’ll be like ‘OH MY GOD!’ That’s how you’re going to end. It’s so good! This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever been part of.”
So I think it is enough to speak about Arcane season 2. I will be needing multiple pages to explore the permutations & combinations of this saga- but these few themes are definitely going to land without a doubt. Just add some sequences with Ekko to give a final touch and your next award winning show is ready to deliver.
Arcane season 1 is available to stream on Netflix and I will be covering everything about season 2. So stick around the corner with TV Prism for everything TV. Till then- stay safe, peace out!
