You Season 5 Release Date, New Characters, Trailer & Everything You Are Looking For

You Season 5 will continue the journey of our Joe in some of the most exciting locations where majority of twists and life changing decisions are waiting for him. While the fourth season has dropped a variety of drama, coupled up with multiple cliffhangers, fans of this stalker saga just can’t wait to dive into this highly engaging story once again.

Well, if you are someone who is as excited as me, then you are at the right place. From release dates to new characters, here I am sharing some of the most exclusive and latest updates about You season 5!

What Is ‘You Season 5’ Release Date?

When it comes on the news of release dates, Netflix is making us feel confused and lost. Thanks to their newly adopted style of releasing their highly popular TV shows in two parts. ‘Cobra Kai’ season 6 is going to get delivered to you in not one, not two, but three parts. And it is not the only project which is getting such treatment.

‘Emily in Paris’ season 4 is also going to drop on this streaming giant in two different parts. Of course it may help them in earning more profits, but that’s not how it should work every time right?

Anyways, talking about You season 5 then we still don’t have any fixed release schedule. After the release of the fourth season, Netflix tweeted news of Joe’s upcoming swan song, writing: “Joe Goldberg will return for the fifth and final season of YOU in 2024.”

While dates are kept under wraps, it should be noted that the company announced the beginning of production back in March. So chances are high that they can wrap up (or maybe, they already did by now) everything by July or August. Long story short, I’d suggest you to expect the fifth season of this show to premiere by later this year.

Don’t worry! I’ll keep you posted on any official news as and when it comes. So keep an eye on us.

How Many Episodes Will ‘You Season 5’ Have?

Now a big question arrives, how many episodes to expect from You season 5? If Netflix moves forward with their pattern of splitting, then you may get a chance to watch an extended season as well.

However, all four seasons from this saga have been made up of 10 episodes in total, so I’d expect the same treatment once again. Though things might change depending on their wild plans, but I don’t think that they will be extended it too much.

New Characters In ‘You Season 5!’

It’s official! They are adding some new and really exciting faces in the cast of You Season 5 to bring more fun. First and foremost, Madeline Brewer is joining the cast to play enigmatic playwright Bronte, who takes a job at Joe’s NYC bookstore to help him find the best hidden treasures to restore to former glory.

Set photos were also revealing the first look at Anna Camp, which means she is also joining this talented cast for making a solid conclusion. However, she’s set to play a dual role – Raegan and Maddie Lockwood – so I am unsure which character we’ve had a glimpse of at this point.

Just in case if you are getting lost in the storm of confusions then let me tell you that both Raegan and Maddie are Joe’s sisters-in-law. Now I don’t know if their lives are safe, but we will see.

The description reads as, “Raegan is the cunning, cutthroat CFO of the Lockwood Corp who has her eyes on the throne and will crush any adversary… be them family or not.” Meanwhile, “Maddie, on the other hand, presents as the unserious twin, a thrice-divorced socialite whose job is ‘vaguely PR.’ But make no mistake, a master manipulator lies underneath Maddie’s frivolous façade.”

Apart from this, Pete Ploszek is also set to appear in You season 5. The actor will apparently play Joe’s brother-in-law aka husband of Reagan. Joining him is Natasha Behnam, Griffin Matthews and Tom Francis.

Apart from this, you can expect the older cast to return for concluding this saga without a doubt.

Is Jenna Ortega Returning For ‘You Season 5?’

Now here comes the most exciting and interest section of this whole article. I know how excited you are to watch the future episodes, but I also knows that 90% of that excitement is because of our beloved Jenna Ortega (Is that too much?). So is she returning for more episodes? If no, then who will be replacing her?

Jenna Ortega is known for playing her smart and witty character namely Ellie Alves. Although she was not able to return for the fourth season because of conflicting schedule, chances are high that she might return in fifth installment. That’s because showrunner Sera Gamble did later tell IndieWire: “We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again.”

A bigger hint was dropped during one of Netflix’s fan events where Penn Badgley was in a clip saying, “I’ve heard you’re on the edge of your seats waiting and theorizing about the epic conclusion of You…” He continued, “More importantly, you’re considering what – or should I say who – Joe will come up against as he finally returns to New York.

So I am expecting Jenna Ortega to return for fifth and maybe the final and conclusive part (If they avoids making more spinoffs.)

Is There A Trailer For ‘You Season 5?’

Well, as of now, no trailer is currently out for You Season 5. In the time of internet, especially when our dearest friend ‘Artificial Intelligence’ is here, I’d suggest you to don’t believe on everything that you see online.

Most of those trailers or teaser which are claiming themselves as so-called “Concept Trailers” are just the fake trailers which have been edited by fans like you and I. Sometime these activities looks so real that fans starts believing on them. So hey! Just be cautious.

You season 5 is currently under development and we will be among the first ones to share more updates as soon as we gets any. You can stream it’s first four seasons exclusively on Netflix and stay tuned to TVPrism for more exciting, original, engaging and well-explained high quality content related to everything TV.

Till then – stay safe, peace out!
