While talking to TOTAL FILMS in her latest interview, Hayley Atwell is sharing her point of views on the success of first installment. First and foremost, the show has the highest Tomatometer score in franchise history with a 67% mark. It is enough for giving a solid idea about it’s quality already, right?
Next, the first installment is also trending almost everywhere, and fans like me are demanding for a renewal as well. Now to build a hype, Hayley is saying that she will fell “honored” for carrying this show forward in “someway.” YES! These are not my words.
Hayley Atwell has given her voice to series’ protagonist Lara, who travels across the toughest paths for searching historical artifacts. She even deals with enemies who tries to steal her belongings and the entire journey is showing her bravery, resilience and of course, the calmness and attitude. It matches the personalty of Atwell, and that’s the main reason why she wants to stay tuned with this saga in one form or another.
“To continue to be involved or to be involved in another way with [Lara Croft] would be an absolute dream and also a responsibility I would take seriously given how beloved and known she is,” says Hayley to Total Films magazine. “I would be completely honored to carry on in some way, or to have Lara in my life in a different capacity, for sure,” she continued.
While Netflix has yet to announce a sequel season, I’m personally feeling like they will give us more than just a renewal. I mean, take a look on their track record. After this level of success, Netflix always comes up with a well-defined plan of multiple installments.
Now it can be Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft season 2, a movie, or even a whole spinoff — chances and possibilities are endless. It’s upto this streaming giant to select it’s way and drop another banger, because I know — fans like me are going to prove their decision right!
Hayley Atwell also enjoyed the company of producer, director and Netflix itself. And maybe, that’s also playing a vital role for making her mind so positive for future already. To be honest, why not? Workplace matters a lot, especially when you are expected to bring emotions in your voice!
