Jisoo Of BLACKPINK Led Newtopia Trailer, Release Date, Cast & Everything You Need To Know

Newtopia is not just another Korean series, but an upcoming and confirmed superhit TV drop which is bringing some of the biggest names from Korean idols!

First and foremost, Jisoo from BLACKPINK is officially going to lead this TV series, and the news is now trending almost everywhere. As a fan-girl of this lovely K-Pop girl group, I can confirm that this news is like a dream come true for millions of fans from all across the globe. The band is not going to make or organize any public concert for the rest of the year – however, is set to make an epic comeback next year. So a news with it’s member, and in a TV series is definitely sharing a lot of positivity among the blinks.

Apart from Jisoo, Park Jung-min is officially joining the cast to portray the one-damn lucky guy, aka, the boyfriend of Kim Ji-soo (played by Jisoo). The drama has been announced by one of the local Korean streaming services, Coupang Play, which is known for delivering some good quality projects. Well, more casting is yet to be announced by here I am sharing almost everything that you need to know about Newtopia.

Newtopia Release Date: What Is Confirmed So Far?

No release dates are announced yet for Newtopia, but I am getting some sort of reports which suggests an early 2025 release window. The project is just announced so it’s really hard to predict anything regarding their schedule, also the fact that BLACKPINK members are getting too engaged in their personal growths and brandings – however, it won’t really make any significant effects on this show.

I’d love to give you a little surprise here. Variety has reported that Newtopia has officially finished it’s filming and show is almost completed. The previous title was “Influenza.”

While K-Dramas are known for following a very consistent and fixed release pattern, it is yet to be confirmed if Newtopia will drop it’s episodes all together, or will end up following a weekly release pattern. Anyhow, I will be updating this section as soon as they drops any bit of news.

Newtopia Plot: What To Expect?

Well, Newtopia is bringing a very common Korean concept once again – Yes, you are right. The main theme is going to revolve around zombies, where Jisoo is portraying a female lead, namely, Kim Ji-so. Her lover is going to be played by Park Jung-min, who is filling the shoe of a gentle man who was completing his mandatory military services.

During his job, a zombie attack happens which completely overshadows the cities – hence, bringing a dark threat for everyone’s lives. Kim Ji-soo is an engineer with a new job, and she will be trying to cross the city in order to reunite with her lover.

Overall, the plot is looking ‘yet-another-version’ of these zombies-based Korean dramas, but this time – we will be giving it a watch for our beloved Jisoo right?

Where To Watch Newtopia?

Like I’ve mentioned above, Newtopia is going to be produced by Coupang Play. This is a local streaming service of Korea so people can give it a try without any problems. Meanwhile for my international friends, I am not sure but Amazon Prime can be the one to premiere it’s episodes.

This is because Coupang Play has a collaboration with Amazon Prime Video services, so chances are high that Newtopia will be dropping it’s new and exciting episodes on this popular service for international viewers. I will be keeping my eye on them to learn more.

Is There Any Trailer For Newtopia?

No official trailer is available for Newtopia as of now, however, you can expect it’s first exclusive teaser or any other similar promotional material to drop by later this year. If this show is promising an early release window, than expect it’s trailer to land on Youtube somewhere in October or November without a doubt.

This section will be updated with it’s trailer as soon as they drops any, so keep an eye on us.
