Halo Season 3 has been cancelled at Paramount and sadly, you won’t be getting more installments or the continued storyline – however, the actions have been taken for greater goods!
Variety has reported that Halo will not return on Paramount+ streaming platform with more seasons. The show was first premiered back in 2022, with it’s second season landing on the streamer between February and March of 2024. While both of these seasons have received a mixed reaction from critics as well as the audience – there were millions of fans out there who were waiting for more installments.
Well, we have to change our lane in order to go on a different one – that’s what you can call this decision. Paramount has some plans for this IP, so you don’t need to worry about!
“Halo To Expand In Different Ways!”
While Halo season 3 has almost negligible to no chances of moving forward in development, Paramount has also released an official statement where the company can be seen making a new and modern plan for expanding this universe.
The official statement reads, “We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work. We wish everyone the best going forward.”
Meanwhile there’s a big catch for us, the fans. I’d love to tell you that Halo season 3 is indeed cancelled at Paramount studios, but it doesn’t means that we will never see the gang in action again. An industry level insider with a good and deep knowledge of both the 343 industries and Paramount has revealed to Variety that Halo will be shopped to other outlets of Hollywood. It means that this show might get a new form and show, or even a movie if they decides to market it in that way.
As per the statement of 343 industries itself, “We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who propelled the ‘Halo’ series to be a global success and we remain committed to broadening the ‘Halo’ universe in different ways in the future.” They also expressed their gratitude for the fans, saying, “We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to viewers around the world.”
Well, only time will tell us more about the future of Halo season 3 – but till then, you can catch it’s first two seasons exclusively on Paramount+.
